Boarding equipment and methods may vary depending on the airport and region of the world. If you have any questions about your destination or what kind of assistance you need, please contact Flair Accessibility Services.
Wheelchair Services
We’re committed to making travel more accessible. Whether you need help navigating the airport, boarding the aircraft, or travelling with your own mobility device, our team is here to support you.
We offer three different wheelchair services to get you to and from check-in to the aircraft as follows:
- Wheelchairs are available for distances between the check-in counter and the departure gate, as well as the arrival gate and the baggage collection area.
- Wheelchairs are available for distances where the customer cannot ascend or descend stairs.
- Wheelchairs are available for customers who are partially or completely immobile and require assistance to transfer between their seats and a wheelchair.
If you are looking for information on travelling with your own wheelchair or mobility device, please visit the Personal Mobility Aids article.
Curbside Assistance
Curbside assistance is available at designated accessible drop-off and pick-up points at all Canadian airports we serve. Please contact Flair Accessibility Services at least 48 hours before departure so that we can make necessary arrangements for assistance between the curb and the check-in counter, and between baggage claim and the curb after you arrive.
At many airports, this service is provided by airport staff on our behalf. Where not available, Flair Accessibility Services will arrange alternative assistance.
Canadian airports offer curbside assistance at accessible drop-off and pick-up zones. Each airport's signage marks the location of these points. For details on your specific airport, visit the links below or contact Flair Accessibility Services.
Additional Services
- Flair can provide you with an escort to the departure gate. Once there, the representative cannot remain with you but will periodically check in to inquire about your needs and attend to them.
- We offer pre-boarding services for customers with disabilities so you can locate your seat and store your belongings. To receive this service, you must be present prior to the commencement of boarding or you may be asked to board after all other customers.
- We offer services if you require a family member or friend who is not flying to accompany you through security to the departure gate. We can issue a special gate pass at the sole discretion of our local representative and depending on the specific airport’s security guidelines. Please see us at the Flair check-in counter to make this request.

- Provide an individualized safety briefing and demonstration, including description of the aircraft layout (exits, lavatories, seat controls).

What Can’t We Do?
Inflight crew cannot assist with administering medication, food, or personal hygiene and if you need help with these tasks you will need to be accompanied by your support person.
We cannot guarantee accommodations for medical and accessibility requests submitted less than 48 hours before departure, though we will make reasonable efforts to do so.
