Flair follows the Canadian Air Passenger Protection Regulations to make sure families are seated together. Please ensure that you select the correct type of passenger when booking your reservation, and that your child's birthdate is accurate to ensure that our systems assign your seats correctly.
Initial Booking/Before Check In
Infants (Under the age of 2)
Children under the age of 2 can be held in your arms or on an adult's lap. If an adult purchases a seat, the infant will be linked to the adult's seat selection for no charge.
All Children Under the Age of 14 (Excluding Lap Infants)
If you do not pre-purchase a seat in your initial booking or add a seat in Manage My Booking, our generic seat assignment system will automatically ensure that your family is seated together during check in. Please see how our system determines seating proximity guidelines below.
Should I Choose My Own Seats?
Want to avoid the middle seat? Prefer to sit up front? Want Extra Legroom? Pre-purchase a seat in your initial booking or add a seat in Manage My Booking for the best choice in seats. There's limited seat availability, so the longer you wait, the less likely you will get your preferred seat.
During Check In/At the Airport
If you did not pre-purchase a seat in your initial booking or add a seat in Manage My Booking, our generic seat assignment system will automatically ensure that your family is seated together according to the following proximity guidelines at no charge. If you see a better seat, you can still change to it during check in for a fee.
Infants (Under the age of 2)
Children under the age of 2 can be held in an adult's arms or seated on their lap. When the adult is assigned a seat during check in, the infant will be linked to the adult's seat selection for no charge.
Under the age of 5
If a child is under the age of 5, they will be seated next to an adult on the reservation.
Seated next to an adult under the age of 5 is defined as within adjoining seats. For example, if the adult is in a middle seat B, the child will be assigned either A or C. If the adult is in an aisle or window, they will be seated in the middle seat (our aircraft are configured ABC on the left side and DEF on the right; aisle, middle, window).
Between 5 and 11
If a child is between 5 and 11, they will be seated in the same row, separated by no more than one seat from an adult on the reservation.
Please note that seats across the aisle are considered "one seat from the adult" for travellers 5 to 11. For example, if the adult is assigned seat C, the child could be seated across the aisle in seat D (our aircraft are configured ABC on the left side and DEF on the right; aisle, middle, window).
Between 12 and 13
If a child is between 12 and 13, they will be seated no more than a row away from an adult on the reservation.
14 and Over
Family seating guidelines only cover children under the age of 14. While our generic seat assignment system does its best to keep all parties together, operational requirements or seat availability may require us to separate passengers travelling on the same reservation. Purchasing seats in advance will guarantee that your party sits together.
