Once a child has reached their second birthday, Transport Canada requires that they occupy their own seat.
If your infant has their second birthday while you are travelling, you will be required to purchase a separate seat on any flight on your reservation after their second birthday at full fare.
Making a New Booking:
Please follow the instructions below to book an infant turning two during transit:
- Option 1: My infant will be lap-held on the flight(s) before their second birthday.
- Please book separate reservations.
- Select Infant as the passenger type for flight(s) before their second birthday
- Select Child as the passenger type for flight(s) on or after their second birthday on a separate reservation.
- Please book separate reservations.
- Option 2: My infant will occupy a separate seat on all flights, before and after their second birthday.
- Please book separate reservations.
- Select Infant as the passenger type for flight(s) before their second birthday
- After booking, please contact our contact centre through our official channels to pay for a separate seat for the infant on any flight(s) before they turn two.
- Select Child as the passenger type for flight(s) on or after their second birthday on a separate reservation.
- Select Infant as the passenger type for flight(s) before their second birthday
- Please book separate reservations.
Existing Bookings:
If you realize that your infant is turning two during transit, but you purchased all flights with them selected as an Infant passenger type, please contact our contact centre through our official channels before check in to avoid any issues at the airport.
We will honour the price that the adult was charged. If the fare is no longer available, our team will manually adjust the fare. You will not be charged the contact centre fee.
